From the industrial age, we have moved to information and the knowledge worker ages, with the profound consequences that implies. Fear and insecurity. Independence representing a value and a purpose, in a reality of interdependence more and more pronounced. All right immediately, when you have to acquire new knowledge and constantly reinvent yourself. Rejection of responsibilities and victimization. Loss of hope, in resigned immobility. Imbalance prof./private life. Thirst for understanding. It is important for us to be heard, to get respect and welcome for our opinions.
Authentic Listening: You often prepare your answer, instead of listening to your interlocutor? The real influence begins when the other feels that his words penetrate you, that he makes himself understood by you, that you lend him a sincere and attentive ear and that you accept his point of view. But most people are emotionally too vulnerable to really listen.
At the end of his life, the great psychologist Abraham Maslow himself placed the happiness and « blossoming » of his descendants above self-realization (personal note: really ? sophism, illogical).
To learn and not to do is not to learn. To know and not to do is not to know!
Whatever my charisma and good intentions, there is no basis on which to build lasting success, if there is no trust. It is only on sincere qualities that the technique can be grafted. The development of the personality, the practice of communication techniques, the training in strategies of influence, the positive state of mind are beneficial and necessary but remain secondary.
The map is not the territory.
The way we see the problem is the problem. Would it be possible that my wife (my husband) is not the real problem? Don’t I validate her (his) weaknesses, so I start living according to the way I am treated. Don’t I have imposed myself paradigms related to my wife, my marriage, to love, paradigms that would maintain the problem? Thus one who desires a happy marriage must strive to generate positive energy in order to prevent the development of negative energy. You can not improve relationships with others without first improving yourself.
Our character is made of habits: who sows a thought, harvests an action; who sows an action, harvests a habit; who sows a habit, harvests a character; who sows a character, harvests a destiny.
Habits are powerful factors in our lives. Because they are logical models, often ignored by the conscious, they express our character and generate our efficiency (or inefficiency)
Habits are the meeting point of knowledge, know-how and desire.
Breaking deeply rooted habits (delay, impatience, the tendency to gossip, selfishness) requires much more than willpower or minimal changes in our lives …
