EFT based on Luc Bodin & al
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a psycho-energetic method designed to relieve emotional distress by stimulating acupressure points while focusing on specific thoughts or feelings.
In today’s fast-paced world, people seek techniques that are fast, safe, and self-applicable. EFT responds to this demand. However, it should not replace medical care in cases of serious conditions. The method was created by Gary Craig in the 1990s and has since spread worldwide.
Roots of EFT
The practice is inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine, which teaches that life energy (Qi) circulates through the body along 12 meridians. Emotional shocks or traumatic experiences can block this energy flow, creating tension or psychological discomfort.
EFT combines elements of:
Kinesiology (muscle testing to detect imbalances)
EMDR (eye movement desensitization for trauma)
NLP (reframing thought patterns)
TFT (Thought Field Therapy, an earlier tapping method)

The Simplified Recipe: 10 Key Steps
Identify the problem clearly – Phrase it in specific words.
Rate its intensity – From 1 (minimal) to 10 (severe).
Say the setup phrase – Example: “Even if I have this problem, I deeply and completely accept myself.”
Tap the Karate Point – Side of the hand, repeating the phrase three times.
Tap the sequence of points – About 7 to 10 taps per point, in your own rhythm.
Check intensity again – Notice if the level has decreased.
Repeat if needed – Adjust the phrase if new emotions surface.
The Complete EFT Tapping Sequence
Here are the classic tapping points used in EFT:
Karate Point – Side of the hand (used with the setup phrase).
Eyebrow (EB) – At the beginning of the eyebrow, near the bridge of the nose.
Side of the Eye (SE) – On the bone at the outside corner of the eye.
Under the Eye (UE) – On the bone directly under the pupil.
Under the Nose (UN) – Between the nose and upper lip.
Chin (CH) – In the crease between the lower lip and chin.
Collarbone (CB) – Just below the collarbone, where the sternum and ribs meet.
Under the Arm (UA) – About 10 cm below the armpit.
Top of the Head (TH) – The crown of the head.
👉 The tapping cycle usually goes from eyebrow to head, then repeats as needed.
